Wedding Bells cynical chimes

Morrissey on the Royal Wedding:

I do seriously believe that they are benefit scroungers, nothing else. I don’t believe they serve any purpose whatsoever.

The press reports from Buckingham tell you that people love them, but go out and speak to people on the streets and they will laugh at you. They really will.”

True usually, but not so much around the wedding that happens today. The Economist this week suggests becoming a Republic would be the best wedding present for the royal couple.

Still the beer tent on the village green holds the promise of merry making, and I would wish any married couple well. With 2/3 marriages ending in divorce they might need more then that.
